DJ DISORIENTAL
(Calgary / Red Bull 3 Style Champ / DMC Champ)

BIO:
With a won ton stuck on a chopstick in one hand and serato in the other, Disoriental was born yesterday and began djing and opening for acts like Superstar Dj Aoki, Tiesto, and many more high profile celebrities. Really? With some other bios you would think the reader was the one conceived last night. No, Disoriental (Jon Chung) comes from humble beginnings watching Goonies on the family's betamax, chilling, growing, eating rice.

Disoriental's real dj career began when he was introduced to turntables by his neighborhood friend. Hooked like cooked crack so began his journey into the world of djing. Along the way Disoriental lived out his calling as an aZn scratch nerd calling, winning a few DMC and local battles, making a few successful mixtapes (featured in URB, Mixwell), immersing himself in spinal research, as well as growing facial hair (the latter taking several years). He learned the in and out, and the in and outs of the industry, playing alongside a bunch of really good djs, travelling here and there and generally being his Chinese parents nightmare (Shout outs to So-Real crew, Randy Jackson thank you).

Lately, technology and the interwebs have allowed Disoriental to branch out even more into the world of music production. His edits and remixes have appeared on the likes of playlists from local heroes Smalltown DJs and Eh Team Djs' Pump, all the way to Cosmo Baker and Dj Eleven from the Rub. He's honed his party skills at numerous successful residencies around town as well as winning the title of "Calgary's Best Party Rocker" during the Red Bull 3-Style competition.

Today when hes not changing his dogs diapers or sitting at his desk at school watching hood videos, Disoriental is still setting booty traps, entertaining people with iron chef - like skills combined with the grandoise of the Beijing olympics. Feel the magic.

SKRATCH BASTID
(Montrealifax / DMC Champ / Scribble Jam Champ)

The Bastid has become one of Canada's most in-demand DJs and respected producers. But it didn't happen overnight. After pumping out mixtapes and earning a loyal following in his hometown of Halifax, Skratch began making an international name for himself through DJ competitions like the DMC, ITF and Cincinnati's Scribble Jam, which he won three times. From there the redhead went viral. Seriously, Youtube that shit.

The Bastid works hard. Only someone who does could maintain residencies in multiple Canadian cities. Only someone who does could have toured the United States and Europe before his 23rd birthday. And only someone who really works their ass off could play 200 shows a year and share the stage with heavyweights like Nas, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Ludacris, Mix Master Mike, Ice-T, DJ Premier, Modeselektor, The Tragically Hip, Russell Peters and many more. Like Samantha Fox, for some reason.

But while hard work might get you there, it takes something special to make a lasting impression. Bastid does this, night after night, by using his razor sharp technical skills to give life to a limitless collection of hip-hop, funk, disco, and rock that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face. It's the type of something special that wins awards, warms panties and drains beers.

Skratch Bastid brings all of this into the studio. In 2007, he teamed up with longtime friend/foe Buck 65 and released the critically acclaimed album "Situation" on Warner Music. The collaboration was inspired. Buck was rapping again. And Bastid? He made an album of beats so good that he was nominated for a 2008 Juno Award for Producer of the Year. He was the first Canadian DJ ever to do so.

Now based in Montreal, he keeps busy with touring, playing special events, producing, recording, remixing songs and providing music for TV & Film. Whatever the situation, whatever the format, Skratch Bastid is Satisfaction Guaranteed.
